Two Year Attorney Fellowship Position Available

  The Law Office of Robert Ukeiley, is a one-lawyer, public interest environmental law firm focused on litigation and administrative advocacy against dirty sources of energy on behalf of non-profit environmental organizations.  We work on interesting and significant cases throughout the nation.  We are accepting applications for a two year fellowship attorney position.  The position starts as soon as possible and is located in Berea, Kentucky.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  In addition to excellent writing, research and oral advocacy skills, candidate should be deeply committed to environmental protection, be a self-starter, productive, not require extensive supervision, and be able to work collaboratively in a small firm environment. Preferred qualifications: environmental litigation experience; some background in the firm's areas of concentration; adept at motion practice, discovery and/or administrative law; science/technical background; and/or memberships in at least one Bar.

 

COMPENSATION

 

We offer a combination of set salary plus a percentage of recovered fees, with amounts to be determined based on needs of candidate, level of experience, skills, and overall contribution to the firm. Overall compensation will be on a par with the salary scale of other public-interest organizations in Kentucky.

 

DUTIES

 

Duties include case investigation and development; legal research and writing; drafting complaints, motions, briefs and other pleadings in support of cases or advocacy positions; discovery; settlement negotiations; and court room appearances.
