Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Recycling Director, the Recycling Program Manager will develop, improve, and help sustain recycling programs in the schools and large apartment buildings as well as provide support to various Recycling Division programs and functions. Specifically, the Recycling Program Manager will:

Minimum Requirements

Environmental Science Degree and/or relevant environmental or recycling experience with at least 3 years of professional work experience, including supervisory work. Must be highly motivated, reliable and possess a positive, enthusiastic, professional attitude. A current and valid Massachusetts Driver's License Class D is required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with custodial operations and familiarity with organizational structures such as property management companies and schools preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Diligent follow up, record keeping, multi-tasking abilities required as well as attention to detail.


Physical Demands

On occasion, requires lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, stretching, pushing, dragging and pulling, using a handcart and/or pallet jack to move heavier loads and using simple hand tools. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Work Environment

General office environment with air conditioning and fluorescent lighting. Requires attendance at meetings with frequent on and off site program monitoring and evaluation, driving a pickup truck a couple hours each day and working outside handling recycling bins, toters and recyclables, such as cardboard.


Compensation

Rate: $40,358 - $47,227 per year
Civil Service: Non-Civil Service
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Union Affiliation: None
