This is a highly visible position and is responsible for performing a variety of professional level work in the area of long range planning.
Some of the duties include: answering inquiries from the public regarding planning issues; making public presentations for group meetings; coordinating, attending and preparing recommendations for interagency, public and group meetings; establishing methodology for planning studies and projects; analyzing, assessing and conducting studies related to neighborhood plans and other Land Use issues; conducting and coordinating reviews of major public projects; preparing Land Use maps, neighborhood plans, regulation development and interagency agreements; attending meetings of local, regional and state agencies and political subdivisions; conducting field studies and research as required for long range planning projects; keeping apprised of actions by the state legislature that affect planning growth, development and government spending and being aware of the advances in the planning profession related to sustainability; preparing Land Use transactional and property history studies as required for the public and staff; and performing other related duties as required.
