Job Description
Under the direction of the Planning Supervisor, the Watershed Resource Professional, with initiative, must exercise considerable professional and technical judgment. The successful candidate will have engineering and/or watershed-planning experience that includes flood damage reduction, water quality and natural resource protection.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Pay Grade 15 - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban planning, environmental studies or related field and 3 yrs. experience in stormwater management.
Pay Grade 16 – 6 years of experience plus professional certification, either a P.E. license or AICP designation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s in related field, AICP, CFM, PE, 6 years progressively responsible experience including flood damage reduction and prevention, surface water quality, wetlands, Best Management Practices, conservation development plans, grantsmanship and experience with GIS. The successful candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams of staff and consultants and must have excellent project management, communication and leadership skills. The Water Resources Professional will represent SMC to elected officials, local governments, planning committees and related federal/state agencies.
