River Restoration Project Coordinator

Project Coordinator position available at Working for Rivers, a Flagstaff-based consulting firm specializing in cost-effective river restoration that focuses on job creation and secondary use of tamarisk. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, self-directed person interested in growing quickly with a socially-responsible company committed to making a difference in the world. Bachelors degree required (Master's preferred) in business, restoration, weed management, agriculture or other related field along with 3-5 years practical experience. Some travel and occasional weekends are expected. Working for Rivers is currently hiring for a half-time position which we would like to move to a full-time position within 6 months.

Position responsibilities include outreach to corporate, governmental and NGO entities; identification and engagement of potential partners and clients, as well as project development and management. Coordinator will research issues including current river restoration projects, secondary uses of tamarisk, workforce development, funding opportunities, and contractor requirements. Position will include grant and report writing including budget preparation and budget monitoring as well as some office management duties.

Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of people including business executives, governmental and NGO staff. Position calls for effective research and organization skills, excellent follow through, and a general knowledge of business practices. The ideal candidate has a commitment to professional growth, is able to work independently, is self-motivated, tolerant of ambiguity, attentive to details, and is willing to jump in and do what needs to be done.
