The Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) is seeking to fill a new position—Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator. BEF is a resourceful, non-profit foundation that thinks like an innovative business. We’re looking for a like-minded person to support our marketing outreach efforts for our Solar 4R Schools program and public relations for the foundation.
Position Overview:
Assist BEF’s Director of Public Relations and Marketing with all marketing and communications activities for our Project Management Group (PMG)- including our Solar 4R Schools (S4RS) team. Write and distribute press releases for BEF and its key corporate partners.
Our ideal candidate is a technologically astute self-starter with a background in marketing and/or public relations and an interest in learning more about renewable energy and environmental education. Essentially, we're looking for a marketing-savvy entrepreneur who wants to help grow a business and encourage the advancement of the renewable energy industry.
Responsibilities:
Project Management Group & Solar 4R Schools:
Develop and manage event and public outreach opportunities for approximately 50 yearly projects including:
- Collect and edit content for Solar 4R Schools on-site interactive kiosks
- Write and edit press releases and facilitate their release and follow up
- Coordinate with schools and funding partners to organize celebratory events
- Collect photos and devise ways to use these images more creatively
- Innovate and test new event styles to continue to improve program profile
Implement marketing & communications strategy for PMG and S4RS based on business objectives:
- Manage creation, print production and distribution of PMG and S4RS marketing and educational collateral targeted to current and prospective: funding partners, project hosts (schools and other public facilities), educators and students
- Assist with ongoing updates and maintenance to Solar4RSchools.org
Devise ways to help PMG funding partners understand how the S4RS program helps them achieve their vision and make them proud of their investment in the program.
- Develop and implement funder communications plan that includes case studies, annual report, newsletter and follow up notes of appreciation
- Help to manage relationships with all funding partners to facilitate their satisfaction with events, publicity and community outreach related to their projects
- Assist Director, Public Relations & PMG Marketing and PMG/S4RS Program Director with devising new ways to delight funders.
BEF Public Relations:
- Write and manage distribution of press releases.
- Coordinate with BEF corporate partners and our internal Sales/Climate Business Group to clarify details of each partnership.
- Coordinate with Director, Public Relations & PMG Marketing on content and timing of BEF corporate releases
- Write preliminary drafts of all releases and manage the editing/approval process.
- Maintain BEF’s public relations and events calendar
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree; 2 - 3 years of work experience
- Strong writing skills, attention to detail
- Intellectually curious, self-starter
- Experience drafting press releases is a plus
Reports To: Director, Public Relations & PMG Marketing
Status: Regular Employee
Exempt: Exempt
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00
