Program & Outreach Coordinator

The New Hampshire Sustainable Energy Association (NHSEA) has an immediate opening for a Program and Outreach Coordinator (POC). NHSEA's mission is to educate citizens and organizations about sustainable energy and advocate for favorable sustainable energy policies in NH.

The POC will be responsible for coordinating all NHSEA outreach, events, and other initiatives related to advocacy and education on sustainable energy in NH. In addition, the POC will work closely with the Contracted Membership Coordinator (CMC) on all written publications, the website, and other aspects of daily operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Event Coordination
Working closely with the Board Chair of the Events Committee, CMC, and other volunteers, the POC will help develop and coordinate an annual events calendar of activities including, but not limited to, day long workshops, a conference, Green Building Open House Tour, and other public outreach opportunities.

2. Communications
Working with the Board Communications Chair, CMC, and other volunteers the POC will help develop and produce a monthly newsletter; maintain an interactive, dynamic and accurate website and Consumer Resource Guide; and be directly responsive to do radio or print interviews, and public speaking, and presentations.

3. Legislative
Working with the Board Legislative Chair, follow statewide policy initiatives, inform the NHSEA membership on a regular basis and facilitate activism to promote aggressive, but sound, sustainable energy legislation in NH.

4. Collaboration
Establish and maintain a presence with related sister organizations and promote NHSEA's role as a clearinghouse resource for NH homeowners seeking a more sustainable home and lifestyle.

5. Fundraising
Initial funding for this position has been secured, but it will require aggressive fundraising efforts including revenue from events and working with CMC on continued grant writing.

Other Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics: The ideal candidate will have a long standing relationship with issues of sustainable energy and demonstrate an informed passion for the subject while maintaining a compassionate and mature attitude towards the process of change. Must be organized; responsible; good with details; flexible, computer literate; and be able to work independently and in a team. Excellent communication skills - articulate, respectful and congenial - required.
