The Natural Resources Council of Maine, the state's leading environmental advocacy organization, seeks an enthusiastic and enterprising individual to help build public support for clean energy, energy efficiency, and reductions in global warming emissions.

Summary Description

The Clean Energy and Global Warming Outreach Coordinator will work to promote wind power development, energy efficiency initiatives, and awareness of and action to address global warming.  The position involves public presentations, recruitment and communications with NRCM activists, mobilization aimed at influencing policy decisions, and coalition-building and management.

Qualifications

·         Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

·         Strong communication skills including writing and public speaking

·         Ability to work with diverse groups and as member of a team.

·         Prior experience with electoral and/or public interest issue campaigns.

·         Ability to travel and work evening hours (e.g. for presentations, meeting/trainings away from the office).

·         Proficient with word processing and electronic advocacy.

·         Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

·         Commitment to Maine's environment.
