IntroductionThe New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC) and the Hudson River Environmental Conditions Observing System (HRECOS) seek an Environmental Analyst to coordinate the overall HRECOS program. ResponsibilitiesThe Coordinator will monitor web outputs and alert site managers in the event of possible problems. The Coordinator is responsible for the rapid analysis and interpretation of real-time data necessary for the dissemination of findings in a timely manner. Coordinator will participate in sampling for toxic chemicals, including evaluating lab data and populating database. Responsibilities also include participating in research resulting in conferences and publishing papers. QualificationsThe successful candidate will hold an MS degree in oceanography, geology or environmental chemistry and five years of experience in QA/QC procedures, development or implementation of monitoring programs and/or observing systems. Experience with meteorological, water quality and satellite telemetry equipment will be helpful. Grant proposals securing funding support and managing a budget are a plus.
